Work with a team of professional engineers, of various
disciplines, from within and outside of the department to ensure
initiation, planning, execution and close out of departmental annual
projects in accordance with the project objectives, requirements and the
RTA strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
•
Prepare the departmental annual execution plan including the projects
portfolio in coordination with the section managers and other
stakeholders and process the same for approval as per RTA procedures
using the existing RTA information and projects management systems.
•
Prepare the departmental annual projects budget in coordination with
the section managers and other stakeholders and process the same for

• Review the project submittals
(ideas, requests, plans, cards, change requests and progress reports)
submitted by the project managers and process the same to obtain higher
management approval.
• Follow up the projects progress with the
project teams and managers, arrange regular project management review
meetings and maintain proper documentation and records.
• Ensure
implementation of the RTA project management policy by all the project
managers and conduct regular audits to verify the same.
• Provide
periodic follow up reports to the management and escalate risks and
deviation with recommended mitigations for all projects.
•
Coordinate with stakeholders within and outside the authority regarding
all issues associated with the rail maintenance department projects.
• Ensure technical teams develop agreed technical specifications and schedules on assigned projects.
•
Work closely with the project managers to ensure successful planning of
the sequence of the work, establishment of key dates and the workforce
required by the project.
• With the assistance of QHSE review and
monitor Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental requirements
pertaining to the project.
• Work with the C&P team on all
contract implementation related issues; variations, interim progress
applications for payment for the project works, negotiation and
agreement of the project final cost.
• Monitor and ensure that the
work of direct and sub-contract contractors is being monitored to
ensure to specification and programme deficiencies are remedied and
managed
• Ensure that effective financial and project management
controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring, modification
and forecasting as appropriate.
• Continually looking to enhance productivity through improved processes, procedures and systems.

Communicate effectively with relevant internal and external
stakeholders to ensure that all parties are kept informed on all
relevant matters impacting and influencing project progress.
• Monitor deployment and management of resources for the project to ensure optimal resource allocation for the project.
• Ensure risks are proactively identified, assessed and managed to avoid adverse impacts on the project.
•
With the assistance of C&P Manage the Tram Maintenance Contract
requirements and coordinate with the tram maintainer for the same.
•
Manage and coordinate the Departmental Enterprise Risk Management
process to ensure the department meets the RTA corporate policies and
procedures.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering: Electrical, Electronics,
Communication, Civil from recognized university with PMP /Masters
preferred.
• 8 years of working experience in the engineering
field with experience in Maintenance / Construction, at least 3 years of
work experience at government authority with knowledge of project
management policy and associated templates, framework and knowledge; and
projects monitoring manual.
